Record what needs to stay consistent

An entity’s Continuity section holds claims about that entity. Use Add a continuity fact for a concise claim and keep its source or reason clear, such as a detail established in a particular chapter. A record is useful because you can inspect it; it is not proof that every chapter has been checked.

Do not rely on Plotscribe to generate a complete story bible, invent missing character details, or automatically catch every contradiction. The shipped records and review controls support your judgment.

Review a claim’s state

  • Found in the prose identifies a claim recorded from writing, not an automatically confirmed fact.
  • Confirmed means you have accepted the claim.
  • Intentional records a deliberate exception or discrepancy.
  • Review available source information before changing state. Marking a discrepancy intentional does not rewrite the text or change an entity’s details for you.

A practical continuity pass

  1. Open the entity’s record and read the relevant claim and detail values.
  2. Follow the referenced chapter or snippet and inspect the surrounding prose.
  3. Correct the manuscript, correct the record, or mark a deliberate difference as intentional.
  4. Review later chapters and linked values where needed. Use the chapters’ story dates in Plan to distinguish a real contradiction from a change that happens over story time.
