Relationships

Connect entities with authored relationships and inspect them as a map or list.

Browser editing requires a purchased license and Workspace sync. Desktop writing needs an active trial or license, without sync. Reading, search, and export of available work remain accessible. Check access requirements.

Connect two entities

  1. Open Relations in the sidebar and choose the source entity with the entity picker, or start from the Relationships section of its record.
  2. Choose Add relationship. Select an Existing entity, or choose Create new to make the target.
  3. Describe the relationship with a preset or your own words. Read the Preview sentence to check both ends and the direction.
  4. Choose Connect (or Create & connect), then inspect the result on the map.

Read the map or the list

Graph puts the selected entity in the middle with its direct connections in a ring around it. Each line is colored by the kind of tie—Family, Friends & allies, Rivals, Work, Places, or Other—and that key doubles as a filter: press a kind to hide or show it. Click anyone on the map to put them in the middle. List shows the same connections as rows. Use the entity picker and the entity-type filter to narrow a busy World.

A displayed connection is authored data, not a relationship inferred as fact from a sentence. Choose a specific label: ‘mentor of’ and ‘mentored by’ do not mean the same thing.

Edit or repair a connection

  1. Select a line on the map, a connection in the side panel, or its Edit control in List to open Edit relationship.
  2. Check its target and label. The connection remains authored on its source entity; changing the display does not move ownership of the record.
  3. If the target is missing, choose the intended surviving entity or use Remove relationship. Removing a relationship does not delete either entity.
