Search & keyboard shortcuts
Navigate the World, look up entities, and reach writing tools without leaving the keyboard.
Browser editing requires a purchased license and Workspace sync. Desktop writing needs an active trial or license, without sync. Reading, search, and export of available work remain accessible. Check access requirements.

Use the right search
- Search or jump to…, in the middle of the window strip, finds navigation targets and actions: chapters, entities and aliases, notes, books, New chapter, New entity, and document import.
- Wiki, in the title bar, opens Quick Lookup: it searches entity records by name, alias, or detail without requiring you to leave the writing context. On an entity’s full page, Find an entity… in the sidebar opens the same search.
- Quick notes, at the foot of the chapter sidebar, finds and opens notes, including notes attached to the current context.
- The Worlds list and individual feature lists have their own searches and filters. A filtered list is not proof that an item has been deleted.
Writing shortcuts
- Ctrl/Cmd+B — bold; Ctrl/Cmd+I — italic; Ctrl/Cmd+E — inline code where supported by the prose editor.
- Ctrl/Cmd+Z — text undo; Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z or Ctrl/Cmd+Y — redo.
- Ctrl/Cmd+Alt+F — Focus mode.
- Ctrl/Cmd+backslash — outline beside the prose; Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+backslash — cycle its width.
- Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+M — toggle Entity highlights.
Keyboard and accessibility
Tab moves through controls and focusable margin notes; keep the visible focus indicator in view. Use List in Relations when the relationship map is not the clearest way to inspect records.
Controls that change writing, records, or structure are unavailable in read-only mode. In the browser, check the purchased license and sync subscription; on desktop, check the trial or license. Workspace content permission is a separate requirement. Keyboard shortcuts do not bypass these restrictions.
