Sync across devices
Link selected Worlds to a Workspace and understand local, pending, and online states.
Browser editing requires a purchased license and Workspace sync. Desktop writing needs an active trial or license, without sync. Reading, search, and export of available work remain accessible. Check access requirements.

Choose what to sync
- Sign in and select the intended Workspace. Sync belongs to that Workspace, not to every file on your computer.
- Check that you have a purchased app license and membership in a subscribed Workspace. If you own the Workspace, enable sync if needed; invited collaborators use that Workspace’s subscription rather than buying a separate one.
- In the Library, choose Set up sync on the World’s row, then pick the correct Workspace under Upload to Workspace.
- Watch sync status and resolve errors before relying on another device. On the other device, sign into the same account and open the World from that Workspace.
Read status, not assumptions
- Local describes storage, not a free browser editing mode. The Library’s Worlds list offers All Worlds and your Workspaces; Local appears only on desktop. A browser-local World remains only in that browser profile unless you explicitly link or export it.
- Online only identifies a linked World without a managed local file copy on this device. Verify availability before going offline.
- Sync on or Up to date is not a reason to ignore a Changes waiting to sync or error message. A connection and a completed upload are different states.
- Connecting or Sync needs attention calls for inspection. Keep the app and its local data intact while pending work is resolved.
- Opening an exported copy does not establish a sync relationship or merge it into another World.
Work offline safely
The desktop app supports offline writing with an active trial or license, without sync. Browser editing requires a purchased license and sync subscription; previously cached account status may remain usable if a refresh fails, but it is not a separate offline trial. Initial access and remote operations need connectivity. Use desktop for dependable offline writing and check that the World is available before disconnecting.
Reconnect and allow pending changes to complete before moving devices. In the browser, never sign out or clear site data to troubleshoot unsent work: download a copy first.
If sync stops or is canceled
When your account no longer qualifies through a subscribed Workspace, browser editing becomes read-only after account status updates. This does not delete existing browser Worlds or automatically upload local-only work. Licensed desktop writing stays available; locally available writing remains readable and exportable. A scheduled cancellation may leave access through the paid period: check its end date in billing.
Keep the app open while already-accepted saves finish. Download a copy before signing out or clearing storage. Resume supported sync through account management rather than repeatedly importing exports as a replacement sync process.
Sync is not an independent backup. Keep periodic World exports outside the synced working copy.
